The Boarding Agent handles the arrival and departure of vessels, ensures all port formalities are met, supervises cargo operations, coordinates with port authorities and crew, and manages ship husbandry needs like provisions and waste removal

Job Description

• Vessel Coordination: Manage the arrival, turnaround, and departure of vessels at port, coordinating with port authorities and ship operators.
• Documentation: Handle all necessary documentation, declarations, and formalities for smooth port entry and exit. Handle SITIMAT operational system.
• Liaison: Act as a crucial liaison between the vessel owners/operators, port authorities, customs officials, and other maritime stakeholders.
• Crew Support: Assist with crew needs such as immigration, customs clearance, lodging, travel, and transportation.
• Vendor & Service Management: Arrange for various services for the vessel while in port, including food deliveries, supplies, and maintenance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant port, customs, and governmental regulations.
• Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate vessel files and administrative records, and assist with billing procedures.
• Communication: Maintain ongoing, efficient communication with principals, port terminals, shippers, vendors, and government agencies.

• Maritime Knowledge: Strong understanding of maritime operations, port procedures, and vessel husbandry.
• Regulatory Expertise: Familiar with maritime regulations, customs, and immigration requirements.
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Computer Proficiency: Proficient in computer and administrative tools, including standard office software.
• Flexibility: Able to work non-standard hours, be on-call 24/7, and travel locally as needed.
• Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physical tasks, including walking, climbing, and occasionally lifting, as required to board vessels.
