Remote Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Remote (Jabodetabek / Greater Jakarta based) Collaboration: Frequent interaction with Australian-based teams

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile Product-Focused Developer who can move seamlessly between low-level hardware and high-level backend systems. You will be responsible for the "brain" of our devices (using Zephyr RTOS), the "bridge" to the cloud (using Python), and occasionally the "body" of the device itself (Hardware/PCB design).

Because you will be working directly with our Australian team, you must be a proactive communicator with excellent verbal English skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Firmware: Develop and debug applications using C and Zephyr RTOS.
• Backend: Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in Python.
• Hardware: Design or modify electronics schematics and PCB layouts to support new features.
• Collaboration: Participate in technical stand-ups with our Australian counterparts.
• Local Syncs: Occasional in-person meetups in Jakarta for hardware testing and handovers.

Requirements

• C & Zephyr: Deep understanding of C and the Zephyr development workflow.
• Python: Experience building backend systems (FastAPI, Flask, etc.).
• Communication: High proficiency in verbal English. You must be able to lead technical discussions on video calls.
• Hardware Literacy: Ability to read schematics and understand basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors, MOSFETs, etc.).
• Location: Based in Jabodetabek (for Jakarta meetups).

Preferred / Bonus Skills (The "Extra Mile")

• PCB Design: Experience with CAE software such as KiCAD, Eagle, or EasyEDA.
• Prototyping: Hands-on experience with soldering and using logic analyzers/oscilloscopes.
• Cloud: Familiarity with AWS/Azure IoT services.
